Frequently asked questions

When do these units ship?

All new orders of Looking Glass Go ship out within 2-3 business days.

All new orders of Looking Glass 16" Spatial Displays ship out within a week.

What's in the box?

Your Looking Glass Go arrives in a box with the display, a USB-C cable, a power adapter, and a microfibre cloth.

The device will ship pre-loaded with a few dozen sample demos.

The Looking Glass Go Frame is sold separately.

Is there onboard battery?

No. It doesn’t ship with an included battery but you can purchase an additional battery accessory here.

Can I use any type of photo or image?

Yes, you can use any photo or image, whether new or old, from any device. Dig up vintage family photos to relive old memories in 3D, or take new ones with your phone.

What type of images work best?

Works with any image - portraits of people and pets work best and because Looking Glass Go is a vertical display, we recommend uploading photos in portrait orientation.

Can I use generative AI images?

Absolutely! You can turn generative AI images, like those created with Midjourney or DALL-E, into 3D holograms. Just upload them as you would any photo, and the 3D depth will be added and displayed on your photo frame.

Can multiple people really view the 3D photos at once?

Yes - it's true! The wide 60° viewing angle of the display screen and the optical lens that projects up to 100 perspectives of a 3D scene allows groups of people to naturally see the content together without the need for special glasses, fancy headgear or headsets.

How do I upload and manage my photos?

You can upload photos directly from your phone using the app or through a web browser on your computer via Looking Glass Blocks (blocks.glass). Your Blocks account allows you to store your holograms in the cloud, making them accessible across devices for easy sharing and updating.

How do I edit my 3D photos?

Use the mobile app to adjust depth, zoom, and focus, allowing you to customize the look and feel of each 3D photo to your preference.

Can I store my photos on the Go?

Yes, the Looking Glass Go has onboard storage that can hold thousands of holograms, allowing you to store and display your 3D photos even when the frame is disconnected from WiFi.

Can I create and manage playlists of my photos?

Yes, you can easily create playlists in the app to organize your favorite moments, allowing the frame to automatically cycle through them. You can also share these playlists with friends and family.

How does sharing work?

You can make your holograms public, share them only with select friends or family, or keep them completely private for your own enjoyment.

I’m an advanced 3D user, is there anything else I can do with it?

Looking Glass Go is more than just a display to show photos (though we've found that it's its primary use case for a lot of users)—it’s also a powerful tool for advanced users, too. If you work with 3D software like Unity, Unreal, Blender, or want to explore cutting-edge techniques like Gaussian Splats and NeRFs, Looking Glass Go has you covered. Bring in complex 3D models, scans,  animations, and interactive holographic applications to the device, making it a versatile display for creators, developers, and artists.
